Why the Human Connection is Vital for Your Business

More and more businesses are utilizing the internet for their marketing efforts. This is a great way to attract people to your business! But for some reason, it doesn’t seem to work for some people.

 

Part of the problem is that the web is getting so busy. Because more businesses are putting their focus online now, it’s really easy for your business to get lost.

 

The best way to be seen is to take a personal interest in others. That human connection will draw more people to you, your products, and your services than many of your other marketing endeavors.

In my recent podcast, I had the privilege of interviewing Bryan Kramer, the go-to guy on all things related to marketing and human connections. He is famous for helping businesses focus on the human connection when it comes to their marketing efforts.

 

A lot of businesses have drifted away from human connection. They don’t necessarily do this on purpose, it’s just one of the side effects of that wonderful thing we call technology.

 

Here are some reasons why we’ve started drifting from humanized marketing.

 

  • We try to be perfect – writing perfect, mistake-proof content that ends up sounding way more formal than the way we speak in real life.

 

  • Everything is automated.

 

  • We sometimes think we know our customers and products better than they do.

 

The #1 Reason Why the Human Connection is Important for Your Business

 

The main reason why you should humanize your marketing efforts is that it makes your clients feel understood.

 

When we look at our customers’ lives, what we see is just a sliver of what’s really going on. Presuming that we know them, their needs, and their wants better than they do can get us into serious trouble. Taking the time to get to know our customers will help us relate to them better. Not only will they feel understood, but they’ll also be more interested in what we have to offer.

 

That, in turn, separates us from our competitors, makes us more trustworthy, attracts potential customers, and keeps existing customers coming back.

 

Never Forget Where Your Focus Should Be – On Your Fellow Humans

 

Being human is one of the best ways to attract customers or clients. Remember that you are not only marketing to humans (not machines or businesses), you don’t know everything there is to know about them.

 

When you understand this, you’ll be more apt to take your marketing into a more human-focused direction. You’ll think more about what potential customers and clients think about your product and service, not just what you think about it.

 

When people sense that you are concerned with how they feel and what they think – they will be more attracted to your product or service. Humanized marketing will help you get one step closer to your sales goals.
